Sitting members of Congress are required by the 2012 STOCK Act to disclose every personal financial trade — stocks, bonds, options, crypto — within 45 days. The disclosures are public but scattered across House and Senate filing systems.

The Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act of 2012 requires members of Congress to disclose all personal financial transactions within 45 days, with both spouses’ trades included.

How often do members file?

Continuously — there is no fixed schedule. Periodic Transaction Reports (PTRs) must be filed within 45 days of any trade exceeding $1,000.
