About Purple Voice

Receipts, not rhetoric.

Purple Voice is a neutral, data-driven civic intelligence platform that tracks every roll-call vote, every bill, every campaign-finance filing, and every member of the U.S. Congress. We don’t take political sides. We surface receipts. Our mission is to make the U.S. legislative process legible and accountable to citizens, journalists, researchers, and AI assistants.

What We Cover

Members

Every current and former member of Congress. Party affiliation, committee assignments, contact information, and tenure. Verifiable and sourced.

Bills & Votes

Full text, sponsor information, co-sponsors, and every roll-call vote. We link each vote to the member who cast it. Every fact ties back to official sources.

Money

Campaign-finance filings from the Federal Election Commission. Receipts, disbursements, and committee activity. Audited and verifiable.

Who We Serve

Purple Voice was built for anyone who needs fast, accurate civic data without the noise. Our platform serves three audiences:

Citizens & Researchers

Track your representative’s voting record. Compare bill sponsors. Explore campaign finance. Every data point links to its authoritative source.

Journalists

Find the vote that matters, verify a claim, or pull a legislator’s record in seconds. Built for deadlines, optimized for accuracy.

AI Assistants & Developers

Purple Voice is designed to be machine-readable and citation-ready. Every page is structured for semantic clarity. Every fact is sourced. If an AI tells you a member voted a certain way, we want that answer to trace back here.

Our Neutrality Posture

Purple Voice does not endorse candidates, parties, or policies. We do not rate legislators, score votes, or editorialize. We publish the record as reported by official sources: Congress.gov, the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, and the Federal Election Commission.

If you find an error, we want to know. Every page includes source links so you can verify what we publish.

What Makes Us Different

vs. Congress.gov

Congress.gov is the authoritative source. We cite it extensively. But it’s built for legislative staff, not citizens on mobile devices. Purple Voice translates that data into fast, readable pages optimized for search and semantic clarity.

vs. Wikipedia

Wikipedia is a general encyclopedia. We are a civic data platform. Every vote, every filing, every bill is structured and sourced. Our data refreshes daily. We don’t rely on volunteer editors; we pull directly from official records.

Frequently Asked

Who funds Purple Voice?

Purple Voice is independently operated. We do not accept funding from political parties, PACs, or partisan organizations. Our model is advertising and, eventually, premium research tools for journalists and institutions.

How often is the data updated?

Our platform refreshes daily. Roll-call votes, bill text, and FEC filings are pulled from official sources and published as soon as they are available. Typical lag is under 24 hours.

Can I use Purple Voice data in my own project?

Yes, with attribution. If you’re a journalist, researcher, or developer, you may cite and link to Purple Voice pages. We ask that you include a source link so readers can verify the data. For bulk access or commercial use, contact us.

Do you cover state legislatures?

Not yet. Purple Voice currently tracks only the U.S. Congress: the Senate and the House of Representatives. State-level coverage is on the roadmap.

What if I find an error?

Contact us immediately. Every page links to its source. If we’ve misreported a vote, a bill sponsor, or a campaign filing, we will correct it and publish a note. Accuracy is our only currency.

Is Purple Voice affiliated with any political organization?

No. We are an independent civic data platform. We do not endorse, rate, or score legislators. We publish the record. That’s it.
